Archer's Story...
Archer was born in Columbia Heights, DC , in a garage. Momma cat jumped in a window and found refuge there after she was abandoned. Fortunately the people who lived in that house didn’t use the garage for a car, and when they found the kittens and mom there, they took the whole family inside the house. They raised the kittens with love and high quality food and vet care, and mommy cat was so happy to have their help.

Archer is a shy but very sweet tabby kitten. Once he gets to know you, he follows you around asking to be patted. He loves to play. He is not a lap cat although he is learning to stand on a lap for patting. He doesn’t like to be picked up and held yet, but he may come around as he is still learning.

Archer gets along with other cats. He was born about the middle of March 2012, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, is current on all shots, and has been neutered.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Archer, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
