Let me introduce myself and my sister. We are two beautiful, slender, part-tortoiseshell girls with green eyes. I am called Stella and my sister, Sophie. We were adopted as kittens from VOKRA but sadly our family must move. They are very sad they cannot take us with them. We are perfect ladies and have impeccable litterbox habits; we never scratch furniture, etc., as our family gave us lots of scratching posts. I am less shy than my sister who takes a little time to get to know new people; after we get to know you, we will sit on your lap. We are not used to being picked up and carried. Our very favourite thing is to sit at the window and watch the wildlife in the garden; we love to play; Sophie loves playing football with ping-pong balls and I like to chase the laser pointer among other things. Now and then we will have "kitten" moments (we're both about 2 years old) and chase each other around. Every afternoon we usually sleep curled up together – we are inseparable and could not live without each other, so we must be adopted together.

We would love a house without children or other pets. Our dream is to live in a house with two people where we can see the garden. We will bring all our scratching posts and toys with us. If you adopt us we will be devoted to you forever.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella AKA Emmy, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
