Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello everyone, my name is Berta! I am a very sweet and spunky girl who is looking for a forever home. … if you have some time I would love to tell you a few things about me!
Not much is known about my background other than I came from a shelter in Lisbon, OH. My foster parents are convinced that I had a home because I am well socialized and completely housetrained (not a single accident since I arrived). I like to spend a chunk of my day playing with the resident beagles, but I spend the majority of my day sleeping on the couch or a dog bed. My favorite place in the whole house is the back of the couch. I love to fall asleep up there for hours at a time just like Snoopy on his doghouse.
I am crate trained, good with cats, good with dogs, take treats nicely, potty on a leash and love to go for walks. In fact, when I am first hooked up to my leash I grab the leash in my mouth and proceed to lead my foster parents on the walk … it is so exciting. I am a tiny bit bossy, so if I go to a home with another dog it is probably best not to pair me with an alpha female. I also have some signs of separation anxiety that manifests in the form of barking, so no apartments for me. Overall, I am an easy going and loving little girl who would love to spend time sitting with you on the couch. If you are interested in learning more about me, please put my name down on your application.
Note from the foster home: Berta has been the easiest foster dog we have ever had in our home. She is sweet, loving and has limited baggage for a shelter dog. We do think there may have been some abuse in her background since she squints when you pet the top of her head, but is isn’t anything too severe since she is doing it less often the longer she is with us. She is a smart, petite, medium energy and well-mannered girl. She has been a complete joy to have in our home.
