Wendel's Story...
I would prefer to keep this simple. I’m the simple type. I don’t need a flashy, witty description full of a bunch a B.S… I’m no used car, and I don’t need a salesman! I’m just a gentle and mellow little guy. About 5 years old. Good with other dogs and kids 7+, yup I’m the quiet, handsome type hidden under all this hair. I like a good walk and a good lap to nap in. You know, I like the simple things in life. That’s what really floats my boat. So, all I need a home, a lap, a leash and some love. Simple enough? 5 years old-12lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; neuter, microchip, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wendel, a Portland Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Portland, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
