Pablo's Story...
Pablo is a Congo African Grey with a long-term plucking problem. She needs someone who can give her several hours of interaction a day, plus plenty of quiet time. She likes being outside of her cage and really gets into shredding boxes and phone books. She also likes hanging upside down and loves taking baths every day.

Some of Pablo's favorite snacks are peanuts, Cheese-Its, grapes, blueberries, and other fruits. She has quite a vocabulary and delights in whistling...loudly. She says, "Hey Pablo," "Who are you?" and "Watcha doing?" among other things. She's especially fond of making funny sounds, like water droplets and farting!

Pablo enjoys interacting with everyone. If you have the time and dedication, Pablo would make a good companion.

Pablo's approximate hatch date is 10/1993, and her adoption fee is $400.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pablo, a St. Louis African Grey was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a African Grey for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a African Grey from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even African Grey breeders who help with African Grey rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
