My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Princess Sylvia! She is definitely a little princess who would like to rule the world! Sylvia is a beautiful, ~2 year old yorkie or silky mix. She somehow ended up in the county shelter and was scheduled to have a very unhappy ending due to her dislike of strangers. Of course everyone in there was a stranger! Sylvia is snappy with strangers, but it really doesn't take her long at all to warm up - especially if yummy treats are involved! The first day we had her, we couldn't pick her up, but now I can carry her everywhere! I was apprehensive taking her to the groomer, but after sharing a cheese sandwich, Sylvia was perfectly content to be groomed! She loves to have her tummy rubbed and like to snuggle and give kisses. She just doesn't like new people at first, so she either needs some socialization and training, or her new family will have to be very careful with her introductions to new people. Sylvia needs a caretaker who will be firm with her and not let her do whatever she wants. She will blossom in the correct setting, but definitely is not a dog that can go to just any home. Sylvia is good with kids. She is bossy with other dogs. I wouldn't say that she has to be an only dog, but she does sometimes get snippy with the other dogs. Sylvia is crate-trained, but still has a few accidents in the house. Again, some proper training is needed to ensure that she learns good behavior. If you want a lovable, beautiful little dog, and are willing to spend the time to help her to work through a couple of issues, then Sylvia is the dog for you! She is extremely loving and loyal to the people that she trusts. Sylvia is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on DAPP, bordetella and rabies vaccinations. Sylvia's adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting Sylvia, please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518.

AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue would like to remind everyone that puppies/dogs are a big commitment and require a lot of attention. Puppies often exhibit undesirable behaviors such as chewing and digging. Of course they also are a lot of fun and are very lovable too. When choosing a puppy please consider how much time you will be able to spend training and socializing your new puppy.
