Pepper's Story...
Pepper is an 8 year old jenday conure who needs to find a new home where contact calling will not cause a problem. Her current owner works out of her home and Pepper's calling has become a problem when the owner is with business clients.

Pepper prefers women to men but has been living with a couple for several years - the wife is her favorite (loves to cuddle.) As you can see from the picture Pepper will step on the husband's arm occasionally.

Pepper eats a variety of fruits/nuts/seeds and also enjoys people food like scrambled eggs and french toast.

Adopter will not need to provide a cage as the current owner will place Pepper with the cage she's already used to.

Pepper is not comfortable around cats and has shown aggression toward dogs in her prior home.

If you live within an hour of the Greater Capital Region of upstate NY and would like to meet Pepper please email or go directly to our website at www.crparrots.org for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Latham Conure was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Conure for sale in Latham, or seeking a Conure from a breeder in Latham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Latham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Latham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Conure breeders who help with Conure rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Latham paves the way for another one to be saved.
