Lila was trapped to be spayed as a feral cat, but the trappers could tell she was very friendly and obviously didn’t belong living outside, so they asked AnimaLovers to find them homes. Although full grown, Lila is petite – like a permanent kitten! She is very gentle and affectionate--and she loves to be held! Her favorite spot is the cat tree, watching the squirrels and birds, or cuddled up for a snooze in the sun. To meet Lila, please call 448-5468, and press 1 for the adoption line.

AnimaLovers was founded in 1995 by a small group of friends who wanted to provide needy cats and dogs in the Capital District of New York with a better way to find their way to safety and new lives. As of 2011, AnimaLovers is serving cats, only. AnimaLovers's mission is to:
* To provide housing, veterinary care, and adoption for unwanted, abandoned, injured, or stray cats;
* To educate adopters, as well as the general public, about the health and training needs of our companion animals;
* To promote spaying and neutering as an efficient and humane means of animal population control; and
* To advocate for legislation that will prevent cruelty to animals.
In addition, AnimaLovers has expanded beyond the boundaries of cat and dog rescue and adoption to meet the needs of other animals as well by creating programs to help families keep their companion animals healthy by providing low cost spay/neuter services and emergency veterinary care.

Our adoption fee for each of our cats and kittens is $85. Call 518-448-5468 to learn if there are any special adoption fees.
