Mr. Sammy is our shelter handy man. He accompanies us through the entire shelter everyday helping with cleaning, organizing and maintence work or just whatever needs taking care of for that day. Sammy also helps with making sure all our new cats are adjusting well and are happy and enjoying their new accomodations. As you can read Sammy likes a job. He is aware of all the going on's at the rescue and never misses a beat. He has a huge personality and most likely will be the funniest cat you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He enjoys all the affection you can offer and will return it 100%. He is a great cat looking for an active and fun loving family to include him in all of their activities. Why Adoption is a Great Option

SAMMY, a Calais Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Calais, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Calais.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calais already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calais breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calais paves the way for another one to be saved.
