Annika's Story...
Hi, my name is Annika!

I was surrendered to a shelter by my 'owners' because I was supposedly mean and not a good cat. Luckily, I was ear-tipped so the shelter called Carol's Ferals to see if they had room for me. They did, so she picked me up, thinking they'd rehome me into a safe barn home. They were shocked at how beautiful I am AND that my personality was not at all like my 'owner's claimed. I was very shy and scared, but who wouldn't be after being dumped in an unfamiliar place. With some work, I began to show my sweet, loving side to the volunteers and Carol decided that I simply could not go outside due to my long, luxurious fur.

I am a gentle, sweet girl who likes the attention of people, but I can be overwhelmed with too much noise and activity. My ideal home would be one where I can be brushed some-what regularly and I can lounge without being bothered too much. Young kids would probably be unsettling for me, but older, respectful children would be fine. Since I am probably a Persian-mix, I sometimes have watery eyes, but nothing medically-difficult to handle. I just need someone with time to keep me clean and well-groomed!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annika, a Grand Rapids Persian cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Persian for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Persian cat from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Persian breeders who help with Persian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
