WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Meet Edith a 5 year old female who was picked up b y a rural, high kill animal control in North Georgia. Because Edith was heartworm positive, she was never available to the public and was destined to be euthanized...until her hero saw her and just knew she would be able to find a pure breed rescue for Edith.
Since Edith is older and was picked up in a rural area, we believe that she was dumped by many of the breeding operations for profit in the North GA mountains. When the dogs usefulness is done, the dogs are let go to wonder. In an English Bulldogs case...letting them wonder in the middle of summer is a death sentence as they cannot tolerate the heat and die from heat exhaustion within as little as an hour. Lucky for Edith, someone stumbled upon her. Does the thought of what was done to her make you sick? It happens more often than you 'd think. Puppymill owners are heartless and have no concern for their dogs.
Edith has been spayed, is UTD on shots and has been treated for heartworms. She is a sweet girl but does not like cats or small dogs. If you have a small dog or cat, please DO NOT apply to adopt Edith.
