Meet Opal, a 2 year old owner surrender to a Humane Society in Tennessee. Opal is at our vet at this very moment undergoing heartworm treatment.
Opal lead a life in which she was ignored much of the time. She didn't even seem to know her name. On surrender to the Humane Society, the owner gave the facility false vet information so we can assume that Opal was never seen by a vet in her short life.
She came to us with a respiratory infection, skin and ear infection and was heartworm positive. The infections are all cleared, she has been spayed and is now UTD on shots. She began heartworm treatment one week ago and will be available for adoption in about 3 weeks.
She is a sweet girl who loves to be touched by her humans. There was a report by the first owner that she didn't get along with other dogs but when she has been exposed to other dogs with GEBR, she doesn't seem bothered by their presence.
