Jazzy's Story...
Jazzy and her filly Star arrived from a Nevada feedlot on January 2, 2010. Jazzy was emaciated and malnourished, and she was covered with wounds. Today, she is a beautiful, healthy and athletic young bay. Jazz has a kind and curious eye and a good mind. When exposed to new things, she still startles a bit, but is not overly reactive. She has a prior injury to her left front pastern P2 bone, but the vet has said she healed nicely and was sound after seven months of stall rest and five months of limited activity. She is currently being fostered at Cool Hills Ranch and is progressing well with her groundwork. She halters, stands quietly for the fly mask application, leads, moves her hindquarters, and is started in the round pen. She would be a great project for a 4-H youth or for someone ready to train their own mount under saddle.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jazzy, a El Dorado Hills Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
