found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Gage was purchased from a breeder, but was not socialized or even taught the basics such as how to walk on a leash. As he got older, his family lost interest in him and gave him away to another family who stuck him in a pen out in the yard and didn't spend any time with him. As a result, Gage withdrew into himself and became fearful of people. When his owners decided to surrender him to the shelter, they called them and asked them to come out and get him because they couldn't catch him themselves. I was there when they brought him in, and he was a terrified, matted, thin, shell of a dog.
Gage is now in rescue, and is getting a second chance at a better life. He has shown himself to be a very sweet boy, and now that he knows he can trust, is soaking up attention like a sponge. He has been wonderful with the other dogs in his foster home, and seems to especially like children.
Given his past, Gage does not have any manners to speak of. He is not housetrained, and thinks nothing of jumping on people or counter surfing. He's a very smart boy though, and has a great deal of potential. We'll be working on his manners in his foster home, and fully expect him to shine.
Gage is utd on routine vaccinations, flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. He has been neutered and microchipped.

Gage must go to an indoor home where he will be an important part of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.
Note: Mid-South Shepherd Rescue is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter location. Our dogs are kept in foster homes as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their forever homes.
