Bentley's Story...
"My name is Bentley! I am about 8 months old and am a Shepherd/Lab mix. Everyone is always "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" over my so-called "luxurious" black coat. I don't know about that, I just know it keeps me warm in the snow! And I love snow!

I also love to play with my foster siblings (both dogs and kitties). Some of my favorite things to do are chase balls, play tug-of-war with my friends, and go for long walks with my foster mommy.

I am friendly with everyone, and am very lovable and affectionate. My life hasn't always been filled with so much love, so it is something I am getting used to. I need someone who can give me patience, understanding, and lots and lots of love. Is that someone you? Please come meet me soon!"

I have been professionally trained by a certified trainer so I am very well behaved

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bentley, a New York Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in New York, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
