Indigo is a beautiful flat coat retriever mix need of a forever home. She is 1 year old, est 42 lbs Lab mix who found herself at a high kill Louisiana shelter as a stray. No owner came to claim her and she was on the euthanasia list until PAWS of NE LA and BBR stepped in just in time to save this sweetie! She is an easy going pup who loves playing with the other dogs and kids in her foster family. She is great in the house and picked right up on potty and crate training. Check back for better photos or go on ahead and send in an application for Truffle today. She would make a fabulous addition to most any family. We expect her to be a medium/large sized girl at maturity.

Please email us at if you are interested in fostering or adopting Indigo!

Our adoption fee is $300. $75 of the adoption fee is refundable if proof of completion of obedience class is demonstrated within 3 months of adoption. Each of our pups goes to their forever family up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indigo (photolink), a Richmond Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
