Hammer's Story...
Hammer is a complete nut!  His motto is “I just wanna have fun”  He loves everyone he meets, plays well with others (though, like most puppies, he usually wants to keep playing long after the other dogs are tuckered out). Hammer will amuse himself rolling around on his back squeaking  the squeaky toy over and over . . . and over. He has no idea of his size, he will climb on your lap for kisses or a cuddle (he loves to cuddle).  He sleeps in all sorts of peculiar positions which is hilarious to see.  He loves to take naps cuddled up as close to you as he can. He does have pretty good house manners, he does not try to bolt out the door or cry if he is left alone.  He has gone on walks to the park and has been a good boy.  He needs to get some training and learn all the basics.  Now that he is comfortable here in his foster home we have started with a couple of the basic commands and he seems to be picking up on them real well.  He is so happy to be with us, we know he will overjoyed to get a forever home.  Hammer seems to know that he got a second chance at a good life and will be a loving and loyal companion to some very lucky family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hammer, a Portland Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
