The Tramp's Story...
Please allow us to introduce Lady and The Tramp. Two gorgeous Lhasas that are available for adoption Lady was born on March 15th, 2010. She weighs 14 pounds and is a complete sweetheart. She is full of fluff and loves to snuggle up and sit in your lap. The Tramp was born April 12th, 2011 and weighs around 18 pounds. Like Lady, Tramp is a sweet heart. These two were owner surrendered and are in need of a place to lay their heads at night and some humans to spoil them. They can be placed together or separate.

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

The Tramp, a Westport Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Westport, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Westport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Westport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Westport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Westport paves the way for another one to be saved.
