Smitty's Story...
Greetings, I'm Smitty. I'm a gentleman cat, a handsome Siamese mix with lynx point stripes and chocolate brown gloves. And blue eyes...don't forget my stunning blue eyes! I recently had a dental, so even my teeth are bright and shiny.

I'm a very friendly fellow, a real loverboy to tell the truth. Just a visit or two and I'm twining around your legs, waiting for some lap time. I like to be involved in whatever you're doing and would love to help you in your office.

I love to play just as much as I love my lap time. I do fine with the other cats in my colony, so I'd probably do well at your house too.

Santa is helping us get adopted, so during December, all adult cats like me can be adopted for $47, which includes my virus testing, neuter, microchip, vaccinations (except rabies), food & litter starter kit, a month of free insurance and a free vet visit voucher.

About Our Shelter...
Because we know and love each and every cat and kitten here, we can help you make the best possible choice when it comes to finding a cat. Our home-like setting not only puts the cats at ease, but it provides a pleasant, relaxing environment for you to choose your next best cat ever. A good match means a wonderful forever home so your kitten or cat never has to see the inside of a shelter again. We also provide lifelong behavior care and referrals to keep our cats and kittens at hom.

We make every effort to keep up with current feline research and best practices in order to keep our standards high and our cats and kittens healthy and happy.

What makes HCH different from other shelters?

A purr is more subtle than a wagging tail. Cats sometimes need a little help to bring out their best sides, especially with the trauma of losing their homes. We focus on the special needs of cats in shelters, creating a cage-free feline-friendly space that best promotes each cat’s individual personality. This also makes us more human friendly too, giving you a comfortable environment to make your best match possible.

Why open another cat shelter?

Around 9 out of 10 dogs in shelters find a home. For cats, it’s only 1 out of 3. We’d like to put a dent in those horrific statistics by showing people what great companions cats can be. We also spay and neuter each cat to help reduce the kitten explosion that leads to nearly 5,000 cat and kitten euthanasias a year in the Pikes Peak region alone.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smitty, a Colorado Springs Siamese cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siamese for sale in Colorado Springs, or seeking a Siamese cat from a breeder in Colorado Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colorado Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colorado Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siamese breeders who help with Siamese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colorado Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
