Precious Luma is a super-sweet girl, even though people haven't been very good to her. She was dumped in a kill shelter with her single newborn pup! Dogs her size rarely have single pups so we try not to think about what happened to the rest of the litter. The shelter staff couldn't bear to see her there and reached out for help. Since then, Luma has been living the good life with a foster and some other dogs to hang out with. She was a great momma to her son and he's been adopted but lovely Luma is still waiting. Her foter reports that Luma loves to go for daily walks/runs, play with her toys, and snuggle on the sofa. She gets along well with other dogs, cat, and kids. She is housebroken and crate trained but will get into mischief if left loose and unsupervised for too long. Luma definately needs regular exercise and will jump a 4' fence if she's bored. She is heartworm negative, microchipped, and ready to start a new chapter of her life.
$125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies and other vaccinations, heartworm test (for adult dogs), deworming, and heartworm and flea preventatives while the dog is in our care PLUS a free new-pet checkup at South Gessner Pet Clinic!

Mutts & Meows Animal Rescue is a private rescue headquartered near Sugar Land (in the southwestern suburbs of Houston). We work closely with other rescues as well as the Animal Control Departments of various municipalities in the Houston area to place dogs and cats in loving, permanent homes. Our pets live with foster families, so we know them well enough to make a good match between people and pets. Our adoption fees ($125 for dogs, $85 for cats) include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, FEV/FELV tests for cats, and heartworm tests for dogs.
Meet our adoptable pets most weekends at one of the locations below. If there's a specific pet you're coming to see, please email (MuttsAndMeows@live.com) the day before or call the store DURING ADOPTION TIMES ONLY and ask to speak to a volunteer. Please do not call the store outside of our regular adoption hours. The pets live in foster homes during the week so the store employees do not know which pets will be there that weekend.

1. Look at our wonderful dogs and cats. Try to pick just one or two you'd like to meet.
2. Email us to request an Adoption Application. We'll reply within 24 hrs.
3. Complete the application and email it back to us.
4. Our Adoption Counselors will review your application and get back to you within 24 hrs. We reserve the right to decline any application. A home visit may be required.
5. If you're approved, we'll set up a time for you to meet the pet at a location that's convenient for you and the foster. (All our pets live in foster homes around the city. We are not a public shelter.)
