My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome young dog was turned over to GSRNE when he was just 9 months old and it didn’t take long to discover he needed a lot of work! When Tyson first arrived at his foster home he had no leash manners, no training, was mouthy, and didn’t like to be touched. His foster home has been working with him and in just a few short months he’s already showing progress.

Tyson is energetic, enjoys life, and will make a great hiking companion for someone. He loves to go for walks, especially in the woods. He’s friendly with people and other dogs and learning that he can’t jump on humans to get their attention. He rides well in the car and is content to just go on errands with his family.

Although he doesn’t seem to be an overly affectionate dog, he does enjoy being with his people. He follows his foster mom around the house and stays near her wherever she is. Tyson likes hanging out in the yard and will entertain himself with a toy or a bone. He’s fast and agile and would probably excel in an activity such as herding or agility. After he’s burned off that puppy energy he’ll settle down nicely, lying quietly next to his family, chewing a bone.

Outside of the home Tyson is friendly with other dogs and has little to no reaction when other dogs approach or bark at him. However, in his foster home he wants to be top dog and tries to bully his foster brother. He will block the other dog from the stairs or the door and is always taking food and toys away. Tyson’s dominant and will push the boundaries if he doesn’t have a strong leader. His foster family describes his personality as “bold” and “vibrant” and that you always know when Tyson’s around! His ideal home will be an experienced GSD owner that will continue his training and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

If you’re looking for a diamond in the rough Tyson just might be your perfect companion!
