My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Michael is a drop dead beautiful doxie. He came into rescue as an eight month old puppy and was quickly adopted. Unfortunately circumstances changed for his family and he is back again in rescue looking for what we hope this time is his forever home.

Michael is a social butterfly. He adores meeting people, including strangers and he remembers his past acquaintances and gives them special attention if it’s been awhile since their last meeting. He is also fine with other dogs when off leash at the dog park but he is aggressive if he meets another dog while leashed (some training should be able to fix this).

Michael enjoys playing fetch but he does not want to share his ball with any other dogs.
He very much has a doxie nose and doxie determination. He sneakily steals anything that might edible and he can open bags and undo zippers to get to any food treasures. For those of you unfamiliar with dachshunds, this is not unusual behavior for the breed..

Michael is living with another male dachshund and doing well but he does want to be the top dog. He would probably be best as an only dog or with a doxie sister. (The females always run the show and a girl dachshund should soon have him under her paw).

Michael is crate trained but he of course prefers to sleep in the big bed.
