Duke's Story...
Duke is an adorable 3 year old lab./basset mix. Duke was originally rescued as a puppy by one of our group members (prior to them being a part of FIDOs Rescue) and re-homed. Unfortunately, Duke's family developed severe allergies and were unable to keep him. Now he is with us at FIDO's Rescue and looking for his furever home! Duke is very cute, with a lab body and short stumpy legs. Duke is a ball of energy and is very affectionate and sweet. He loves to be in your lap and give kisses. Duke is completely housebroken and crate trained, and is good with other dogs and cats. He knows commands and is very well behaved. He is neutered, UTD on shots, HW neg, microchipped, and fully vetted. Duke's adoption fee is $125. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Lancaster Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
