Chococat's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting this kitty, please go to www.orphankittenrescue.com/adopt and fill out an application.

My name is Chococat. I was separated from my brother at a very early age and because of this, my confidence in people tends to reset often. I'm timid and will need a quiet home and a patient person. I'm much more confident around my older foster brother so I will be much more suitable for a home that already has a cat needing a companion as I am more comfortable and trusting with another cat around. I am very well behaved and clean with no problems with my kitty litter. I love playing with toys, especially anything that flashes or has movement, but I'll never mistake your feet or hands for toys, and I certainly never ambush people from above or below. I'm very quiet except at feeding time, when I'll chirp like a bird to let you know I am waiting ever so patiently. You''ll hear a squeal from time to time when I play with my foster brother. My favourite pastime, however, is to watch the traffic from the window for hours on end. If you approach me very softly and quietly, I'll usually allow you to pet me and you'll always know if I am happy, because my purrs are like a loud jet engine. I also sleep at night with my foster family and watch over them as they wake up with a ready "good morning" snuggle. I will make a wonderful and awesome companion once you earn my trust, as I will always watch over you -- and I will be the type of cat that will lovingly take care of and protect a brother or sister cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chococat, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
