Mickey's Story...
Mickey was believed to be a Saint Bernard cross when we rescued him from a local shelter, but he's actually a Saint Bernard wannabe! At approximately 6 to 8 months old, Mickey weighs around 17 pounds and hasn't grown at all in the month that he's been in our care. He has shown himself to prefer older women over men, but is slowing learning to trust older men too. He is not good around children or younger men. He loves toys and to run and play fetch. He is being fostered in a home with 3 Saint Bernards and he plays with them fine, but does get scared when play gets too rough. He was previously in a foster home with cats, chickens and horses and completely ignoted them. He is completely trustworthy in the home and hasn't had one accident while in foster care. If you would like to adopt this sweet puppy, please fill out and submit an adoption application found on our web site at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted within 24 hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Bellflower Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
