Meet Sammy! Sammy was born on August 30th in the rescue. He is very socialized and was raised with his siblings, his mother and around children. Mom was rescued from a Ohio high kill shelter. We were told she was 4-5 months old when we pulled her. Upon arrival the foster mom noticed that she might be pregnant. Upon x-rays from the vet it was confirmed that yes she was pregnant and likely around 1-2 years old. The foster mom stuck by her side and a month later 6 beautiful puppies were born.
Three of the pups have already already been spoken for. Sammy, Dash and Cameron are being fostered together in a home in Berkley, Illinois. If you would like to meet this pup, please go to www.angelsonwheels.org to complete the on-line application. If approved a meet and greet will be schedule. The application does not commit you to adopt, it just tells us a little about your family. These pups are very young and if you work more then 5 hours a day, a puppy is not the right match for you. The pups would also be best suited in a home not a condo or apartment as we don't know if they will grow to be barkers, and we can't be certain of their size. The foster mom has no kitties in the home, but given the pups age, we he would adjust just fine as long as the kitty would be fine. Please do not ask if the pup is housetrained. Puppies this age are not, and they do pee a lot...at least every two hours, thus the reason it isn't a good idea to crate a puppy all day long as they simply can't hold it.
Mom is about 30 pounds, and what she is mixed with we are not really sure. The vet's things possible Aussie as she has the coloring and the long coat. We think dad may have been a lab as the pups have webbed feet and some of the pups look all lab. But again breed is only a guess. We think based on current size and age the pups may be between 50-70 pounds, but again that's just a guess.

If your applications is a good match, you would go to the foster mom's home to meet him. Please be patient with the process. Angels On Wheels Animal rescue is an all volunteer rescue with jobs and families trying to save some lives. It can take a few days to process applications.
The adoption fee of $300.00 includes the neuter or spaying when the pup is old enough but paid for by the rescue if done through one of our 8 spay/neuter participating vets, microchipped, 1st vaccination for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo, deworming, treated with Revolution or Front-Line Plus, along with any other medical needed. You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Wheaton Animal Hospital, or Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.
Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save them.
