Cody is a 2 yr old Pom-a-Poo. His owner passed away and one of our wonderful volunteers took him in untill we could find him a new home. He is a friendly and happy boy who loves to play and go for walks. He was raised in a home with cats and got along with them very well. He would do best as the only dog in the home b.c he can be dominant with other dogs. He spent 2 weeks in a foster home with young children and did wonderful with them! Cody is neutered. The Volunteer Auxiliary For Animal Shelters, Inc. is a non-profit organization run solely by dedicated volunteers committed to helping shelter animals. Our mission is to increase adoptions and decrease euthanization at the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter in Jackson. A large part of our adoptions are done at off-site locations, staffed solely by volunteers. These locations have enabled us to place many animals in loving homes.
Foster families for cats and kittens and Petsmart adoption volunteers are currently needed. If you are interested in volunteering, please email volaux@yahoo.com. If you would like to make a donation, we are a 501(c) 3 corporation and listed as a charitable organization. Your donation is tax deductable. Please address your donation to The Volunteer Auxiliary 615 Freemont Ave. Jackson New Jersey 08527. Your donations give sick, injured and homeless animals a chance. If you would like to donate items we are in need of kitten milk replacement (KMR brand), dry/wet cat food, cat beds.
Petsmart TomsRiver has graciously provided us a room to house cats that we have for adoption. While the cats can be viewed during store hours and applications may be left at anytime, most adoptions are done on Saturdays and Sundays. However, appointments may be arranged during the week. Additional cats/kittens who are in foster care visit petsmart every weekend on a rotating basis. Adoption hours are 10 - 2 on Saturday & 11 - 3 on Sunday. We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application, please be sure to provide a vet reference. Our adoption fees are $45.00 for adult cats and $55.00 for kittens. Please be patient, we are volunteers, it is our goal that you will be contacted within 48 hours of receiving your application. All cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, luk/aids negative.
Our cat/kittens come from the Ocean County Animal Facility North in Jackson, NJ. We have an adoptioin center located in PetSmart TomsRiver.
