Pickles's Story...
Some pickles are sour but I’m the sweetest pickle you’ll ever meet! Although I’m a youngin, I didn’t have the easiest start. See, I found myself in a bit of a pickle when I landed at the county shelter and my time was almost up! Fortunately FOHA stepped in and I’m now living the life of luxury in a kitten nursery with my two foster siblings, Wiggles and Petunia. I love to wrestle with my sisters and even let Wiggles win most of the time (she is smaller than me after all!). I also love to purr up a storm when my foster mom pets me. Purr. Purr. Purr. After I'm done playing, I like to curl up on the couch next to (or on!) my foster mom. I also hope that whoever adopts me likes to share their bed because I'm big on cuddling at night!

For more information about me, or about FOHA's adoption process, contact my volunteer friends at 703-385-0224 or adopt-a-cat@foha.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pickles, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
