My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3/5/13 - ADOPTION PENDING!

ADOPTION FEE: $450

Fostered in Texas

Weight: 10 lbs.

Age: 2 years

10/26/12 - My last address? The streets! My last owners? Losers! I’m not sure what I did for them not to want me anymore, but I sure am glad they chose to continue life without me. See, I’m now in a foster home, with three other furbabies and two humans, am getting unconditional love, a nice warm place to sleep and as much dog food as I can eat. These nice people brought me to the vet to get some things called shots so I wouldn’t catch anything. They also gave me a test and I failed. Seems I have heartworms. I was also not neutered. Seriously, it was too much for them to do anything for me. Like I said, previous owners — losers.

Don’t let my heartworms scare you away. Foster mom and dad, along with the vet of course, will be taking care of those old worms and once I am heartworm free, they said they will make sure my next owners keep my on heartworm prevention.

I have a very positive disposition and am learning about this “toy” thing, but would really rather have a human. I’m friendly with all my foster siblings, but haven’t really tried to play with any of them as of yet. I do, however, love the attention I am getting from my foster parents and sometimes they have to remind me not to “hog” it all. Sorry, just can never get too much of a great thing. And, I truly don’t have a preference, female, male, I love all people.

I’m doing well on the potty training thing, but there is this door here at my foster home that is made for dogs (since it doesn’t have a handle to turn). This allows me to go when I need to and I’m picking up on that. I do walk well on a leash and love my daily walks.

I am uber affectionate and love to snuggle and cuddle. Although, currently I am submissive and I think that is some of my street handling coming back. I am springy and can get on the sofa and bed by myself, but prefer to be picked up and put down once I’m up there.

The one thing my new parents will need to be careful of is ajar doors. Seems I could be a bit of an escape artist or magician. I don’t think a very active home or a home with children would be good for me since I will take the chance at any open area to explore and will need maximum security protocol which only an adult can give. Not that I ever want to leave my people, I’m just a happy baby and think something good is always around the corner or on the other side.

My foster parents say that I am such a catch, they would not mind keeping me, but if they did, they couldn’t help the next lost soul with losers for previous owners. I know how it feels to be on the street, so even though I can stay here as long as I want and need, once I find my forever home, the next stray can be saved.

Signing off for now, Quigley!!
