Amber's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, Idaho

Amber is a 12 year old lab mix, but you'd never know it! She has the energy of a dog half her age and barely a speck of grey hair (we should all be so lucky!). Amber was turned into a local shelter by her owners after being a part of their family for her entire life. Fuzzy Pawz Rescue hates stories like that so we took Amber (and her sister Koko) into our foster care program.

Amber loves to play ball, and she is very nice about it. She will bring it right back to you and place it gently in your lap or hand. No chasing or playing tug trying to get the ball back with this girl. Amber is great with other dogs and cats, and tries to get her foster brother to play with her all the time, but he's not quite as interested. She bonds easily with all the members of the household, and loves any attention she can get. She's not needy, but she does follow her person around and likes to stay close in sight. She can also be left off-leash in the front yard and will not run away. She's quiet in the car, so much so that you forget she's there. And the only time she barks is when she wants to be let back in the house.

And is she a dream to walk on a leash, never pulling and walking right by your side. She'd be a good walking companion for an older person, because she doesn't tug on the leash so there would be no issues with her knocking someone over on icy streets. Because of her age, she does tire a bit more quickly than a younger dog, and a 3-4 mile walk was close to her limit. But that's the only time her age shows. She's rambunctious and playful, and a delight to have around.

Amber has a ton to offer and will fit perfectly into any home, is she the right fit for you?
Amber is spayed and fully vaccinated.

If you are looking for an intelligent, beautiful dog companion please complete an adoption application at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

There is a $25 adoption fee for Amber – she is eligible for our Senior for Seniors Program.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amber, a Boise Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Boise, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
