My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nyla, Fixed Female, Australian Shepherd/Lab mix, DoB approx 9/15/10, well-mannered, leash trained, housebroken, very interested in cats so training and caution would be needed, not sure about children. Nyla was found, thirsty, scared and exhausted in the center of a busy Rosarito highway. Although scared, she allowed us to lift her into the car where she was taken to the vet for an over night stay, and examination, and plenty of food and water. She stayed, quietly, in isolation while her wounds healed, then slowly integrated into the pack at her foster home. She still sleeps in her safe “cave” (crate), separated from the pack, but is now fully integrated, Nyla plays well with other dogs, seems ok but curious about cats, has not been around children. She is not an aggressive girl, can be bullied except at feeding time. We think she has missed too many meals, although she wasn’t starving when we found her. She is sweet, loving and curious about everything. A wonderful pet to lie at your feet or to keep you company as you meander along a footpath. She is a loving, non-needy girl who simply wants a place to sleep, steady meals and the occasional head scratching. She will make a loyal friend. She doesn’t bark much, but will express her opinion if another dog tries to move in when she is getting attention. We bring a few of our rescues every Sunday to the Chula Vista Petco Unleashed, 304 East H Street, just off the 805 freeway so if you want to meet Nyla, please call or email so we will be sure she is with us.
