Meet Mason! He is a 9 month old Chihuahua mixed with what we think may be a splash of Min Pin based on his lean leggy look. He currently weighs 8 lbs and should not be more than 10 lbs once full grown. Mason was rescued out of the South LA animal shelter. He was one of the lucky dogs picked to get their photos taken all dressed up in Halloween themed bandanas. When we saw Mason’s big pleading eyes in his bandana photo it was as if he was begging “please get me outta here…I am scared”. We have included that photo here.
Mason is happy and loving little guy. He is very affectionate with people and loves everyone he meets. He likes to follow you around the house so he can be close but he is also content to keep him self busy playing with his toys or his canine friends. Mason gets along wonderfully with other dogs both big and small. He enjoys being a part of a little dog pack and would make a great canine friend for a family who already has another dog OR he would be equally fine as an only dog for a family who can spend time with him and include him in their activities when possible.
Mason LOVES to play fetch! He runs like a little gazelle and is so proud of himself for retrieving the ball. He loves going for walks and is great on the leash. Mason does well in the car and is learning to like going for rides now that he knows it doesn’t mean he is going back to the shelter. Mason is doing great with his housebreaking and does his business outside as long has he has access. We are very proud of Mason and how he just adapted so quickly to house living after being in the shelter for almost a month. One thing we have to mention is that Mason is a huge CUDDLE BUG!!! At the end of his day he loves to snuggle up to your body and know that he is safe and warm. Mason is not a yappy dog and only barks at appropriate times like the doorbell ringing.
Mason is neutered, microchipped, rabies, dewormed and up to date on his vaccinations. If you would like to meet Mason please contact Theresa at treasuredtailsrescue@hotmail.com or call 951 852-7999. Welcome to Treasured Tails Canine Rescue. We are a volunteer based all breed dog rescue focusing on Riverside County and San Bernardino County animal shelters. The dogs we save from shelters are the ones in danger of euthanasia. Highly adoptable dogs lose their lives due to many reasons. Shelter over crowding, an easily treatable medical condition or injury, a dog who is extremely shy or frightened in the shelter environment or in many cases the dog is simply in need of a make over at the groomers. Once a dog enters our rescue he/she goes into a foster home where we can get to know that dog better which allows us to match the dog up with the right family. We do this for the love of dogs.
FOSTER HOMES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED! PLEASE CONTACT FOR FURTHER INFO ON BECOMING A FOSTER FOR OUR RESCUE.
Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. If you are interested in learning more about a particular dog, please contact us at treasuredtailsrescue@hotmail.com or call 951 852-7999
Our adoption process is as follows. An adoption application needs to be filled out so we know a little more about you and your home. This helps us match the right dog up with the right family. If it looks like a good match we will set up a time where the family can meet the dog and spend time together. It is required that all members of the household and their current dogs (if any) be present during the meet and greet. If things go well and the family decides to adopt, Treasured Tails will deliver dog to its new family on a day/time agreed upon by both parties.
Adoption fee is $200-$250 and that includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies. utd vaccinations and deworm.
An adoption contract must be signed by both parties upon adoption.
Treasured Tails Canine Rescue is a volunteer based dog rescue focusing on Riverside County and San Bernardino County animal shelters. Our available dogs are in foster homes throughout Riverside County and parts of Orange County. We adopt our dogs throughout Southern Ca only.
