Meet Bailey. Bailey is a 6 year old adult female beagle. She is 15 inches and weighs about 36 lbs. She is a little heavier than she should be, but that just means there is more of her to love! She will drop her extra pounds with a little exercise and a little control over the treats she receives.
Bailey was turned into HBHR by her aging owner who could no longer take care of her. She is an active girl and loves to have the attention of her humans. She gets along with the foster dogs in her foster homes, but prefers the attention of her people. She loves to sit and cuddle with her humans as they watch T.V. She is dog door trained, house trained. Bailey has the run of the house when her foster parents are at work and has not had a single accident. Also, as she is no longer a puppy, she is well past the chewing stage. Bailey has had some prior training; she knows “sit”, “down”, “stay” and “leave it”. Her favorite word is “treat”. She loves to go on walks, and enjoys the dog park.
Bailey is quiet and gentle around small kids and will roll over for a tummy rub that lasts forever! Bailey is an all around great girl, who would be happy with or without other dogs in the house. She is also quiet enough for apartment living. Meeting her will leave you singing “Ms. Bailey won’t you please come home”, so fill out an application today.

We are a small group of volunteers in the Houston, TX area who foster rescued beagles in our own private homes. We have no shelter facility. The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website, www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org, and then we will contact you regarding meeting the dogs.

We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from around noon to 3:30 p.m. We will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles!
The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website. We require an adoption fee ($225 for purebred beagles; $250 for pups age 8 mo. or younger; $175 for seniors 8 yrs +, beagle mixes, & special needs dogs) and an adoption contract. ALL dogs will be vaccinated and spayed/neutered before adoption!
