My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daphne is shy but loving. She was a breeder relase and never socialized, so she is learning in her foster home to love people. She is fine with mature kids and women, but she is not liking men right now. She will bark at them if they come in the house. She is learning to hush and not bark, but it will take time. We don't know what hurt her by men but she will probably do well in an all woman home to start out. When she learns to trust the outside world we live in she may accept men then. She is working on house training she has a doggie door and fenced yard.

Most of our rescues lived with another pet and she needs another furkid playmate. She weighs 15 lbs and is solid black in color and 3.5 years young and active. Has cropped ears and docked tail. Daphne is being fostered by Maria and family in Ashtabula, OH area.Daphne's adoption fee is $395 and it includes a written veterinary exam, Spay, Dental with some extractions and medicines after surgery if needed. In addition you receive prepaid Microchip registeration. PLUS an annual booster shot, rabies shot and tag, heartworm test and passed, fecal and preventative deworming. In season our rescue's are on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. You also receive a trial limited 30 day pet insurance from a third party.

We send you home with a copy of all the vet work, dog training booklet, adoption paperwork, and tips. Our Foster families notes explaining our rescue dogs schedule, habits, socialization skills.

We do not ship or transport our dogs you must drive to the foster home to meet the dog. You must fill out our on line application to schedule a meet and great with the foster dog. We do not require a fenced yard on all of our dogs, it is on a as needed basis. HOWEVER if you don't have a fenced yard we do require you to purchase an exercise pen (>$60 on internet) so that the dog can be safe when outside; SMALL DOGS CAN NOT BE TIED OUT.

Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them, potty pad train them and use exercise pens and work on potty skills. Dogs learn quickly and are pretty far along.

We are not a shelter our dogs are fostered in private homes.

Please visit our website www.ronsrescuedrascals.org to learn more about our adoption procedures and policies, submit an adoption application, meet our volunteers and benefit from the 8+ years of rescue experience of our all-volunteer, non-profit rescue.
