Thumbelina's Story...
Meet Thumbelina, a long-haired, black-and-white female kitten. A survivor, Thumbelina and her brother, Tom Thumb, were found shivering under the car of a Billerica resident, and rescued. They were just 4 weeks old. With prompt medical attention to eliminate their internal and external parasites and plenty of TLC in foster care, these two wee babes are now plump and sassy, with beautiful soft and luxurious coats. Thumbelina sports a black topcoat, white-tipped nose, white socks, and a white underbelly. She is a busy little bee, the more gregarious of the two, and has made fast friends with the dog, older kittens and resident cats at her foster home.
Born approximately Sept. 6, 2012, Thumbelina has tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and will be ready for her forever home after her first shots at 8 weeks of age. She would be happiest to be adopted with her lovely brother, but wouldn't say no to a home with one of her older foster "sibs", Nigel or Mia.

Please note: All cats and kittens require an on-line adoption application be completed and sent BEFORE consideration for adoption can take place. On-line applications at www.billericacatcarecoalition.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thumbelina, a N. Billerica Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in N. Billerica, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in N. Billerica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in N. Billerica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a N. Billerica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in N. Billerica paves the way for another one to be saved.
