Our adorable Millie was quite a different looking gal when we first rescued her. She was severely obese, had a infected cyst on her back, her nails grown into her pads, two large tumors, ear infections and in need of a dental. Despite all this, Millie was just the sweetest most gentle gal.
Millie moved into foster care where we began her healing process. We had her feet, ears and teeth cleaned up, the tumors and the cyst were removed and finally we had her groomed. During this process our "Wiggly Butt" actually lost a couple of pounds too! Millie is looking so pretty now and feels a world better. Her "Wiggle Butt" seems as if it is motorized as it is constantly moving - almost vibrating from happiness!
It warms our hearts to see Millie so happy and not at all sad. You see our sweet Millie actually had an owner that gave her up to the pound (no reason was given). Given the condition Millie was in, we're glad that we could step in to save our sweet girl. As a non-profit we are on a shoe string budget and manage our funds wisely but we knew that this precious girl didn't deserve to die over a couple hundred dollars. Oh boy are we glad we did! Millie is a ray of sunshine and brings joy to all that met her!
Millie is still in need of losing several more pounds in order to get her down to a healthy weight. But Millie LOVES to go out on walks, although quite honestly Millie is happy to be wherever you and/or the "action" is - out in the backyard while you hang out or garden, lounging at your feet while you read or watch TV, going for a ride to visit friends, you name it Millie is happy to tag along.
Millie is looking for a home that will love and adore her for all the days of her life! She deserves absolutely nothing less. She'll shower you with love and even gentle doggie kisses in return. Daily walks are of course a must along with a healthy low calorie diet. So if you're looking for a little ray of sunshine, Millie is eager to hear from you, to start the next chapter of her life. www.azrescue.org.
Millie weighed 37 pounds when we saved her from the kill list. After a month in foster care she has lost 3 pound and still is losing weight to regain her girlish and healthy figure!
