Trooper's Story...
Trooper is a 1yr old Saint Bernard mix who weighs about 85lbs. He was saved from a kill shelter by our rescue & his foster mom says he's great! Trooper is very smart & was crate trained & housebroken in just 4 days! He is a sweetheart who gets along with dogs, cats, and humans of all ages. He has lots of energy & loves to play, run & jump...but his favorite thing to do is chew bones (don't worry...he won't chew your shoes!). If you'd like to welcome this big, lovable guy into your home, please email adopt@sarocksorg, or visit www.sarocks.org to fill out an online application & we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting!

Trooper's adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, rabies tag, heartworm test, and 1st month's flea/tick & heartworm preventative. Worried about a new dog learning the rules of your house? We offer 2 free training sessions if you need help getting your new dog accustomed to your home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trooper, a San Antonio St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
