Romeo's Story...
My Name is Romeo...I'm a 1 yr old Collie mix that was rescued from a kill shelter just in the nick of time! I love to play fetch, know how to sit, love water, am learning to walk on a leash & how to do some cool tricks! I love kids & get along well with other dogs but should be supervised the first few times they are together. I like to bark at cats, so I would do best in a home without any. I do need to be crated when you aren't home. I am a sweet, timid and protective boy!

If you would like to meet Romeo, please email adopt@sarocks.org, or visit www.sarocks.org & fill out an adoption application. My adoption fee includes neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, current flea/tick and heartworm preventative & microchip.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
San Antonio ROCKS is a non-profit organization that was created to bring awareness to our cities homeless animal situation. Our organization is run by a group of committed volunteers who are dedicated to helping San Antonio become a no-kill city.
More than a rescue, SAROCKS is focused on bringing awareness and alternatives to kill shelters by implementing community programs that educate the public about our homless stray population.
Founded in late 2012, a collective group of individuals came together after spending countless days and sleepless nights pleading for the city's homeless pets, only to find that most of the efforts were in vain. Many animals remain homeless in our city and continue to be euthanized daily because there is no place for them to go. Our organization not only focuses on our current pet crisis by offering foster and adoption programs, but also focuses on the education of our young generation, so that they will be able to continue our efforts into making our city a no-kill city.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romeo, a San Antonio Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
