Ruff Ruff! My name is Otis
|Size:||Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)||Sex:||Male||ID#:||5108856|
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Otis is under 2 years young and a bundle of goofy fun. He's a high energy boy who needs an active family who can keep up with his energy level. We're just getting to know Otis and will be updating soon.
A fenced yard is required to adopt me
Please Note: We are all volunteers and busy taking care of our foster dogs so please take the time to fill out our on-line adoption application if you are interested in more information about any of the hounds that we have for adoption. Filling out our application does not obligate you to adopt in any way. It does, however, help us to determine if the dog that your interested in would be a good match for your family and lifestyle.
All of our dogs are fully vetted. They have been vaccinated, altered, microchipped and heartworm tested and on prevention.
LOCATION: Otis is currently being temporarily fostered in Urbana,Ohio. With the help of volunteers, transportation to his forever home can possibly be arranged. Don't let distance deter you!
Bloodhounds require A SECURELY FENCED YARD.
Rescue Group Info...
Ontario Bloodhound Rescue (OBR) is a small, not-for-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to helping homeless and abandoned Bloodhounds, placing them in loving, approved homes across Ontario and neighbouring States.
OBR is committed to placing homeless Bloodhounds into permanent, loving homes as family companions. All Bloodhounds in our care are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, are on heartworm prevention, up to date on vaccinations and provided any necessary medical care.
Our Bloodhounds are placed in a foster home where their temperaments, personalities and needs are evaluated so that we can find the best possible match between each individual Bloodhound and their adoptive home.
OBR remains committed to each Bloodhound for the rest of its life and if, at any time and for any reason, the adoption does not work out, we require that the Bloodhound be returned to Ontario Bloodhound Rescue.
All of our Bloodhounds are located in foster homes throughout Ontario as well as some US states. Where each Bloodhound is fostered, is listed in their individual add. A submitted adoption application is required prior to meeting our adoptable dogs.
Adoption applications can be requested by email firstname.lastname@example.org One of our volunteers will contact you to follow-up on your application. We have a small number of volunteers, so please be patient while we work on your application. OBR is committed to matching the right Bloodhound with the right family and we appreciate your patience. OBR reviews current applications on file for first consideration for the Bloodhounds we have available. If you would like to adopt a Bloodhound, please be sure to have your application on file.
All adoptive homes are required to go through a screening process that includes references and a home visit. An adoption fee is required to offset some of the costs incurred in caring for and re-homing each Bloodhound. OBR remains committed to each animal for the rest of their life and if, at any time and for any reason, the adoption does not work out, we require that the Bloodhound be returned to OBR.
Bloodhounds require A SECURELY FENCED YARD. Invisible/underground electric fences don't work on these dogs. They get on a scent and are totally oblivious to anything else around them.....including traffic. Bloodhounds don't tie or chain well either. They are fine for apartment living as long as they get enough exercise.
All of our dogs are adopted to be 'in-the-house' family members. Bloodhounds are not for everyone, they can't roam free and can't be walked off leash. Please research the breed prior to requesting an adoption application.

Although the goal for all our adoptions is a lifetime commitment, we understand that sometimes circumstances beyond anyone’s control occur.
