Lucy's Story...
As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Liz directly at 913-226-2694 or liz_novak@hotmail.com to find out when and where you can meet LUCY!

Lucy is a sweet, gorgeous senior Lab/Husky mix who is looking for her retirement home. In addition to getting her beautiful blue eyes from the Husky side of her family tree, she "talks" like a Husky, especially at meal times. Her foster mom and dad love "talking" with her. Lucy is housetrained (no accidents at her foster home), knows "sit" and "shake" and is the perfect mellow companion for a lucky someone. She's great with kids and other dogs, too, but would probably be best in a quiet home. If Lucy sounds like the right fit for you, contact her foster mom today to find out when and where you can meet this beauty!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Husky for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Husky dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Husky breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
