Mac's Story...
Meet Mac. Mac's a little found guy who's owner was never located. Mac is a beagle possibly a year old weighing 13 pounds. He will be seeing the vet shortly for exam, vaccinations & heartworm test then will be scheduled for neuter. Mac will also be microchipped for his new owner. Mac is a very happy little boy and a total lovebug - he LOVES everyone. He loves to cuddle up on the couch with his fosters. Mac also loves to sit at the window watching the world go by. He's housebroken and stays in a crate when his fosters are gone. He's pretty good on a leash, but could use a little more training on that. Fosters have no other pets, so we don't know how he would be with other pets, but feel certain he'll be fine because of his sweet disposition. Would you like to make this cutie your new best friend? Rehome fee $100. Email Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender at to request an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mac, a Baton Rouge Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
