Sprout's Info...
| Breed: | Conure | Color: | Green | Age: | Baby |
| Sex: | Male |
Sprout is a beautiful little green cheek conure who came out of a home with 29 other birds in North Carolina (you can read more about that intake and the other birds here (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152195669180254.919085.208071225253&type=3). We were told that Sprout is approximately 8 months old, however, we feel she/he is a little younger, about 5-6 months. He is a little underweight, but has been gaining since coming into rescue and has received a clean bill of health from the vet. He eats very well, but so far only pellets and some seed. We are working on getting him to eat more types of foods including fresh vegetables and some fruits. Sprout is not an aggressive bird at all, however, he is not used to being handled and has no idea how to step up, so he just needs a little work as he is scared of hands. Once you are able to get him out of the cage (he runs from you a little until he gets used to you, but does not bite), he is very friendly and likes to be scritched and cuddled and will groom you as well! He just needs a little training to be the perfect companion!
Rescue Group Info...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.
Our rescues are located in homes through out the state. We will work with the fosters and potential adopters to set up dates and times.
We require an application which is free of charge, an adoption fee which varies on the bird you wish to adopt. We do NOT adopt our for breeding purposes.
