Dexter's Story...
Dexter is a laid back, sweet young man. His perfectly marked tabby coat colors are striking and will only become more handsome as Dexter grows up!

Dexter is incredibly engaging and endearing. He loves attention from his people and loves sitting in laps. He enjoys head rubs and chin scratches; if you're doing it just right, Dexter will flop over on his side with an expression of utter contentment on his face! Dexter returns your affection by drooling, purring, and letting out sweet little meows that say "Love Me!" Dexter is really in tune with his people...one of our volunteers was serving him dinner but Dexter was so attentive and excited about what our volunteer was doing that she finally sat down and talked to him. Once he knew our volunteer wasn't going anywhere, Dexter ate heartily, taking a moment here or there to meow in response to something she said to him. As I said earlier, Dexter is both engaging and endearing! He really just seems to want someone to love and care for him and someone that he can love and care for right back!

Dexter is a curious little guy which means among other things he does enjoy playtime! He especially likes pouncing on feather wands with the white mittens he wears on each paw!

Dexter will make a wonderful pet for just about any family. He is a recent rescue, so as we find out more about this incredibly sweet boy's purrsonality we will post updates. If I were you though, I wouldn't take any chances and I'd apply for this sweetheart today - www.azrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
