Facts about Emily

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
This sweet beautiful girl is Emily. She is a black lab who is about 4 years old and around 60 pounds. Emily and her brother were found when a man went to rent a trailer and found them tied up out back with no food or water. They were both starving to death. They were skin and bones. When we took them into foster they needed so much. We determined not only were they lacking in nutrition but needed lots of socialization. Now looking at Emily you would never know how close to death she was. She is good with other dogs but can try to be alpha with them. She walks on leash well. Emily is afraid of loud voices or yelling. She needs someone who understands that you will have to gain her trust and can be the alpha pack leader. This poor girl as had so many bad things happen to her in her life. Now she needs someone who will give her a forever home where she knows she is safe and will never be mistreated again.

About Hickman Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission and focus is to benefit the lives of the animals and people in our county by providing for the humane treatment of pets thru foster care, appropriate medical care, rehabilitation of pets, comprehensive adoption coordination, consistent spay/neuter funding programs and public education with a goal of reducing the homeless pet population, irresponsible breeding and the prevention of cruelty and neglect to animals.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Since ALL of our funding is from donations (we are not supported by a government agency), fundraising and a few spay/neuter grants, we always need monetary donations and food and supply donations including straw and bedding material. With winter coming we could really use some more dog houses and tarps (used is welcome). Used crates are also always needed. Pick up can be arranged within a reasonable distance. Thank you for your support.
