Piper's Story...
This is Piper and 8.5 month old FEMALE Black and Silver German Shepherd dog. She is beautiful. She appears to be a purebred. Pictures do not do this pretty petite pup justice! I am the Foster mom and Rescuer. She was given up by her family due to her former owners illness and no longer being able to afford to take care of her. I would like to get her re-homed to a forever family. She needs a second chance at life. I have been working with her in training. knows how to sit, walk on a leash nicely. She is very sweet and loves to give kissy face. She is smart and learns very quickly. She will need an adopter that is patient and understands she is a young pup. She lived with a male German Shepherd and now lives here with our 4 GSD's and Sheltie and is doing great! She is very gentle and loving once you gain her trust. She would make the perfect companion dog for a person who is active and has a lot of patience to build her confidence and make her feel secure again. Being a GSD she is highly intelligent and easily trainable. I will encourage you to continue her training so she can become a good canine citizen. She is sweet and loving to both humans and animals. She has a wonderful disposition and personality. She is happy go lucky, mild mannered and a playful. She has a pretty good energy level as she is STILL a puppy. She LOVES to go for walks, plays in the water with the hose and kiddy pool. She wants to love and please you. She LOVES to play with her toys and enjoys playing with the other dogs that she is currently living with. She is good with other dogs when introduced properly, unknown with cats at this time. She would NOT be suitable for a household with small children as she is a bit nervous around them and wants to heard them and chase. So at this time I would ask if you have YOUNG children under the age of 12 I would not consider her for your household. She is not aggressive that we have observed in anyway just insecure and has a bit of separation anxiety. She appears NOT to be an alpha female. She is a very good puppy that wants to learn and please you, play and be loved. She is house broken. She is kennel/crate trained. She is very loyal to humans. She follows me around the house and loves being near me. she loves human contact. She is just an all around great GSD pup. She needs to find a home with a family or to someone with lots of time for training and to give this sweet dog exercise. She would make a wonderful addition to any family or person. Remember she is a YOUNG pup still and has a lot of energy still so she will need to be exercised often. She enjoys car rides to the park and does well riding in cars. She will guard as a type dog would protect there home. German Shepherds require continuous training and stimulation as they can get board easily. They are a very intelligent breed. So when considering "adopting" one please do your research to see what they require and all that they entail. Make sure this is the RIGHT breed of dog for you.

These dogs live to be around 10-14 years old. Are very intelligent and need a lot of stimulation. ("A German Shepherd mind is a terrible thing to waste"). They are a very loyal and loving breed. They make good companions. I, myself have four and love this breed very much. I would be happy to help you with any further information you need to know on this Breed of dog. Please do your research on this Breed to make sure it is the right one for you or your family.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small privately operated and donation sustained 501 (c) 3 Non-profit German Shepherd Rescue. All donations are tax deductible. We strive to give this wonderful breed a second chance at life due to circumstances out of their control. We pull from Kill Shelters, take in Owner surrenders and help out stray or ill dogs that no one wants. We have two acres here where the GSD's live with us in our home. We provide them all the medical care necessary, give them their basic training commands and socialization skills so that they may go to their new homes as god Canine citizens and we well rounded for their new adopters! We will NOT adopt a dog out unless it's a "match" for both dog and human. We love our dogs and we will always put them first.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Phoenix German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
