Look at that smile! One of our adoptable dogs is Tojo. He is an adorable Lab-Boxer or Lab-Australian Shepherd mix male that we rescued from Clarksdale because his family could not afford to keep him any longer. He is great with other dogs, extremely friendly and didn't deserve to be euthanized! No dog does! So we brought Tojo to our shelter and he is waiting for his forever home. Tojo is adorable because when he wags his little bob tail, his whole body wags! (He was born with the bob tail.) Tojo has a medium to high energy level and the boy can climb like an olympian mountain climber...the boy can climb over and up darn near anything so a fence won't keep this boy "fenced in". He would do great inside and taken for lovely long walks with his family. He would has be great with children. Tojo is about 18 months old. For more information on Tojo or to arrange a meet and greet, please call 662-363-1625 or 662-519-1700 or email email@example.com. Togo's adoption fee is $100
If you are interested in adopting this wonderful animal please visit our web page at www.tunicahumanesociety.com and fill out a non-binding adoption contract. We know each of the animals entrusted to our care by name and we will be happy to tell you all about the personality and little quirks that make each animal so loved. Our adoption fee for a dog is $100 and that covers all shots and vetting and spay/neuter. Our animals are fully vetted before we send them off to their new family.

The Tunica Humane Society desires to improve the quality of life for all animals in Tunica County by aggressively pursuing a high quality, low cost spay-neuter program. We are dedicated to saving the lives of all animals who are endangered, neglected, abandoned or abused. It is our hearts desire to see Tunica become a "NO KILL" model community in a world where over 5 million dogs and cats are destroyed every year simply because they are considered "disposable". "Lassie, Cleo, Rin Tin Tin, and Toto don't show up in a rescue shelter. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, or perfectly behaved dog or cat. We get leftovers. Animals that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained" and badly treated. Most rescue dogs and cats have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've lived outside..in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed, and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up.
But the Tunica Humane Society will not give up. We will never give up on an animal. We know that they are living beings, with a spirit, a heart, and feelings. Our animals are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminister champion. So...please, please don't come to rescue a dog or cat in the hopes of getting a "bargain" or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to the shelter to give, to love, and to save a life and to mend your own spirit. For rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. We can promise you this...a rescue dog or cat will make you a better person." UNKNOWN
At the Tunica Humane Society, our goal is to do the best adoption possible...matching you with a pet that will become a lifelong member of your family. To ensure the best possible match between adopter and pet, we ask that you read and understand the information provided regarding our adoption policies and procedures. You will be asked to sign a legal contract when adopting your pet and you must pay an adoption fee/donation. The fees go directly to our rescue group to help us save more animals. Thank you for opening your heart and considering adopting a shelter dog. By making this commitment, you have not only found a friend for life...you have saved a life. If at any time you cannot keep the dog, you MUST return it to the Tunica Humane Society and not to another individual or shelter.

Our Adoption Process...
We require a contract from each adopter and all adoptions are approved by the executive director, Sandy Williams. There is a $100 adoption donation. We know each of our animals by name and we can tell you all about them. We want the very best home for each animal and we want each adoption to be successful.
