Marley's Story...
Yellow Lab Mix
35-40 lbs
1 - 1 1/2 years

Mama Marley was discarded at the very high-kill L.A. County Downey Animal Shelter after her family said they didn’t have time for a dog. Three weeks later Marley gave birth to four beautiful babies (3 boys and 1 girl) on the cold, depressed, urine saturated shelter floor.

Marley and her pups are now safe in a wonderful foster home. While we are accepting adoption applications for them now, they will not be available for adoption until January 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marley, a Los Angeles Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
