Danny's Story...
Introducing Danny! Danny is a young male eclectus, approximately 2 1/2 years old. He is very friendly and animated and LOVES attention! Not only does Danny say several words and sentences, he also makes several high-pitched realistic sounds including a phone ringing, smoke alarm needing a battery and theme music from psycho! He knows how to step up and loves to cuddle and kiss. Due to a poor diet and neglect in his former life, Danny is covered in places with only down feathers, and most of his remaining feathers are damaged due to the fact that he chewed them up! Now that life is good for him, Danny is preening normally and should begin to molt out the bad feathers and regain healthy new ones. Danny eats mostly fresh fruits, grains and vegetables as all eclectus parrots do. He also enjoys a special eclectus mix that is available commercially. While very sweet, Danny can be loud and shows his disapproval with nips. He will need a firm, loving hand from someone who is often at home and can provide supervision when outside of his cage. Danny is not one to sit around on top of his cage and wait for you…..he will climb down and search you out!! Due to this fact, he would probably be best suited to a home without dogs or cats. He will go to either men or women and will make a great companion for the right person or family. Danny is such a sweet parrot, once you meet him your heart will be his!

About Our Rescue Group...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Danny, a Tampa Eclectus was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Eclectus for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Eclectus from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Eclectus breeders who help with Eclectus rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
