Allow me to introduce to you this handsome fella going by the name of Murphy. He’s a young (1-2 yr old) pitbull mix with a whole lot of love to give! Murphy enjoys going for walks and is excellent walking with a harness as he barely pulls. He’s a super friendly boy and loves to say hello to everyone that walks by (both canine and human). Murphy knows his basic commands like “sit,” “down,” “look,” and is quickly learning more advanced commands such as “drop it,” “leave it,” “look,” and and “find it.” Murphy is treat-motivated which makes it easy to teach him new things. He will also take the treats from your hand very gently. He loves a game of fetch with a tennis ball to burn off some energy. Murphy will gladly go over to you for some relaxing snuggle time on your lap if invited! Murphy has done really well with car rides, outings to the park, and even seems to be housebroken. What a catch!
Don’t miss the opportunity to adopt Murphy as your new family member; you will not regret it!
If you have any resident dogs or children under 10, please bring them in to meet Murphy to ensure it is a great match. Contact his Pen Pal for any additional questions: colkane77@aol.com

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 32,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement. Other exciting ACCT Philly programs include a food pantry for low-income pet owners, a vibrant volunteer program, trap-neuter-return for community cats, a unique Pen Pal program to assist dogs at risk … and so much more!
