You’ve heard of lounge lizards? Well, I’m a lounge cat!! I love lazing on the couch or the bed, conserving my energy and bonding with my humans. I really enjoy meeting new people and will go right up to anyone to make friends. I like being around my foster mom and follow her everywhere, carrying on a conversation about my day. I’m very good at informing her about what happened at home while she was at work. I’m OK with the other cats in my foster home, although I do get grumbly when I meet someone new. A few days together and I’m fine – but I’d be perfect as an only cat, too. Just don’t expect me to do laps in the living room at midnight or climb your drapes like a kitten. We lounge cats are much too cool for such nonsense! You can meet me by calling AnimaLovers at 448-5468, then press 1 for the adoption line.

AnimaLovers was founded in 1995 by a small group of friends who wanted to provide needy cats and dogs in the Capital District of New York with a better way to find their way to safety and new lives. As of 2011, AnimaLovers is serving cats, only. AnimaLovers's mission is to:
* To provide housing, veterinary care, and adoption for unwanted, abandoned, injured, or stray cats;
* To educate adopters, as well as the general public, about the health and training needs of our companion animals;
* To promote spaying and neutering as an efficient and humane means of animal population control; and
* To advocate for legislation that will prevent cruelty to animals.
In addition, AnimaLovers has expanded beyond the boundaries of cat and dog rescue and adoption to meet the needs of other animals as well by creating programs to help families keep their companion animals healthy by providing low cost spay/neuter services and emergency veterinary care.

Our adoption fee for each of our cats and kittens is $85. Call 518-448-5468 to learn if there are any special adoption fees.
